About Our Downtown
- DOWNTOWN LETHBRIDGE
- Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
- Downtown Lethbridge is a collective of visionary business leaders who believe that the 'Heart of Our City' beats in its centre core. By promoting the downtown as a viable economic district, while retaining its predominant historical flavour, it has brought the area back to the prominence it once enjoyed. It's simply understood that our downtown is the place to be, the place to meet and the place to get things done.

Rotary Centennial Plaza

On June 26, 2008, a water feature and upgraded pergola were unveiled to the public for the first time. The fountain consists of 97 water jets lit with LED lights that can create interactive shows choreographed to music. It can be programmed to play a variety of five-minutes shows every 20 to 30 minutes throughout the day. This alluring and interactive water feature has attracted hundreds of new visitors to the downtown and has brought new life back to our underutilized downtown park. Many young families have taken the opportunity to bring their children to the plaza to play in the dancing waters. This project has added a new dimension to the downtown experience. The Business Revitalization Zone is very appreciative of the commitment made by the Rotary Clubs of Lethbridge, City of Lethbridge, provincial government and sponsor businesses that helped to make the Rotary Centennial Plaza a reality. When we look back on 2008, the new water feature will undoubtedly be top-of-mind when it comes to initiatives that have had a significant impact on the downtown experience. The water feature operates during the summer months from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
